The Mines’ Route in April and May wekk-ends (Minimum 2 people, maximum 4 people).
Saturday: Arrival in the early afternoon the farm holidays Il Mandorleto, welcome and guided tour of the Contrada Gerace and the stables to make friends with horses with a little training in the field by the school of equestrian guide Alessandro Stellino; in the evening dinner and overnight.
Sunday: After breakfast riders will depart in the direction of Piazza Armerina along a scenic track and after about 2 hours we arrive at the farm Grottacalda in which you consume lunch and then resume the return path to the farm holidays The Mandorleto; who do not mount horses can visit the nearby Park Mining Floristrella and during the day can try their hand at archery: sunset will end the equestrian excursion with the greeting to the participants; as an alternative to the excursion Grottacalda you can make a horse ride of two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon to explore the lake, Monte Gerace and the forest park, interspersed with a lunch break.
Services offered: equestrian guide, logistical assistance, service farrier and vet emergency, 1 typical lunch, 1 dinner, an overnight stay in a double, 1 breakfast, rent or own horse stabling including hay and feed. Participants must be provided with riding license valid and appropriate clothing for the country riding.
Prices: w/e including 1 overnight, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast and 1 lunch at 70 €, Grottacalda escursion 70 € for knight; 2 hour horse ride 30 € for knight. Extras for companions and aggregates: can book dinner at the farm holidays Il Mandorleto at the price of € 20 per person including drinks while accommodation with breakfast in a double room at the price of 30 € per person, lunch at the farm Grottacalda (tel.0935.958533) at a price of 22 € per person including drinks.
To visit the Mining Park Floristella, the Archaeological Museum of Aidone, the archaeological site of Morgantina and Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina.
